A Winter Wonderland Wedding

I had the privilege to style and cater a dear friend's daughter's wedding in December 2014.  It was a dreamy, beautiful winter wedding.  I only have pictures of the reception but I also styled the church...hopefully, I'll add those pictures someday!  The venue was an art gallery called The Kemp.  I had a beautiful entry with two staircases leading into a gorgeous grand ballroom.  The bride wanted an agenda for her guests so they would know what to expect during the evening. We made it beautiful to match the bridal portrait held in the entry.

These are the arrangements that were chosen for the guest tables.  Three different styles were chosen to create interest around the room.

Surrounding the dance floor, we added pub tables with sparkly votives and a reminder to visit the photo booth!  We also created a hashtag for Instagram users to attach to any pictures they took during the evening.

Here is the rotunda that showcased the dance floor.

At the landings of each staircase, I highlighted special moments or items from the bride and groom's life.  On one side, I had the groom's mother make his favorite cookies which happened to be a recipe from his grandmother.  I framed a copy of the recipe to provide more meaning to the tablescape.

On the other side of the landing,  we collected various bridal pictures of parents and grandparents to add a little nostalgia for guests to enjoy as they enter the grand ballroom.
This beautiful balcony with the opened french doors provided a sneak peek of the ballroom and wedding cake as guests arrived to the gallery.
To add true elegance to the food tables, gorgeous crystal chandeliers were hung and provided soft lighting for the guests.

Guests were greeted with an array of cheeses and various crackers and breads.  Caprese skewers added beautiful color to the table.
Guests were provided the choice of two soups.  Potato soup with various toppings (cheese, chives, bacon) and tomato soup with bite size grilled cheese to top it off.

Guests were given a choice of berry infused water or a champagne punch....which was a true hit of the night!  I couldn't keep it full!
The bride and groom setting was set off by a specially decorated wall with pictures of their engagement and a small bench for seating.  Other benches were placed near them for guests to visit with the happy couple during the reception.

A mock fireplace and mantel was brought in to create a feeling of warmth during the reception.  Handmade benches by the father of the bride provided extra seating for guests.

The bride wanted a s'mores bar for the reception and boy was it a hit!  I tried to make it as elegant as possible to match the surrounding decor but still be functional.

I think it was a beautiful addition to the reception!

The groom designed his cake with a drawing and I did the best I could do for him!  We had to incorporate all the sports he had been involved in as well as his high school, college and favorite team logos on the base layer.

His mother provided me a t-shirt quilt and special honors and memorabilia for a special display around his cake.  It was a really cool tablescape!
The bride also requested a hot cocoa bar so we made it beautiful for her too!  They even purchased special cups with their names on them for their guests!  Super cute!!

The bride's cake was a six tiered Italian cream cake with fresh roses adorning it on various tiers.
